We’re talking about years of working experience. In whichever profession you belong to. The longer you’re exposed to the working force, the more experienced you are in a professional working environment. Not convinced? We’ll get down to the nitty and gritty for you. It’s not just about establishing a stronger role as you are working for that senior executive position, but you are also entitled for retirement funds and leadership opportunities.


For starters, most people who stay at a company for at least a decade or so, have the upper hand than those who do not. They are likely to have taken on more challenging roles and positions while they are there to gauge their expertise in areas they are passionate about. The fact that they are able to move within a company gives them the ability to retain their statuses and benefits, and it says a lot about their loyalty and patience as an employee.

Think about this in the long run, imagine you’re a job hopper, the least thing that can appeal to you is a retirement fund. Let that statement sink in a little while more. The more you change your job in hopes that you’d get a better pay, the least appealing your CV is going to be. A frequent job change affects an employee’s homeownership status and retirement and stock option programmes, badly.

This is especially true if you’ve been sticking with the company through the good times, and the bad. Your positive influence and the ability of having a say in the company can tell a lot about you as an employee, and it would most definitely display your trustworthiness over the company’s direction in the coming years. As long as there is a bond formed between the many years of hard work from the employees, they will surely excel and could also have the upper hand of the company.

In a nutshell, do what feels right. And whatever feels right may not be just short and sweet all the time, because sometimes a little length is indeed strength after all.
